Clone fragrances have exploded in popularity over the past few years. For fragrance enthusiasts, they offer an exciting way to experience the DNA of luxury perfumes at a fraction of the cost. Some clones even outperform their originals in projection, longevity, or wearability. But not all clones are created equal.
Recently, I asked fragrance lovers to send in their top-rated clone fragrances — the ones they consider a perfect 10/10. The responses were fascinating. Some of these clones truly hit the mark, while others stirred up some debate. Let’s break them down one by one.

Armaf Tres Nuit – Creed Green Irish Tweed Clone
Original Inspiration: Creed Green Irish Tweed
Performance: Around 6 hours
Tres Nuit is often hyped as an affordable alternative to Green Irish Tweed, but in reality, it lands closer to Davidoff Cool Water. It has that green, musky, soapy vibe, but it feels a little synthetic and lacks the richness of Creed.
While it captures the freshness, it doesn’t quite deliver the luxurious texture of the original. For the price, it’s fine, but it’s more of a 6 or 7 out of 10, not the perfect clone many claim it to be.
Sospiro Vibrato – Bvlgari Tygar Clone
Original Inspiration: Bvlgari Tygar
Performance: 12 hours
Unlike many clones, Sospiro Vibrato isn’t much cheaper than its inspiration. But it shows how clones can add something new rather than just copying. Vibrato mimics Tygar’s grapefruit, woods, and ambergris, but adds white florals, musks, and a touch of greenness.
The result? A fragrance that’s 90% similar but feels more interesting. Fresh, invigorating, and with impressive longevity, this one earns a true 10/10.
Armaf Club De Nuit Sillage – Creed Silver Mountain Water Clone
Original Inspiration: Creed Silver Mountain Water
Performance: Excellent – outlasts the original
Silver Mountain Water is known for its green tea, ozonic freshness, and metallic edge. Armaf’s Club De Nuit Sillage leans harder into the metallic note, sacrificing some of the smooth green tea vibe. But here’s the kicker: it performs far better than Creed’s version.
For lovers of this DNA, Sillage is a worthy investment, delivering power and longevity at a fraction of the price. Definitely a 10/10 clone.
Al Haramain Amber Oud Tobacco Edition – Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille Clone
Original Inspiration: Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Performance: Comparable to the original
Tobacco Vanille is iconic, blending tobacco, vanilla, and cocoa into a rich, cozy scent. Al Haramain’s Amber Oud Tobacco Edition nails it — about 97% similar, with equally strong performance.
Unless you crave the prestige of owning the Tom Ford original, this clone does the job brilliantly. A near-perfect dupe and a solid 10/10.
Rochas Moustache EDP – YSL Tuxedo Clone
Original Inspiration: Yves Saint Laurent Tuxedo
Performance: 8+ hours
Moustache EDP mirrors Tuxedo’s spicy, floral, and amber character. Tuxedo edges ahead with more realistic spices and a luxurious texture, but the difference isn’t night and day.
At the right price, Moustache EDP is an excellent stand-in for Tuxedo. Unisex, sensual, and elegant, it’s easily a 10/10 value clone.
Lattafa Asad – Dior Sauvage Elixir Clone
Original Inspiration: Dior Sauvage Elixir
Performance: Strong, wearable, signature-friendly
Sauvage Elixir is notoriously intense and spicy, often too heavy for daily wear. Lattafa Asad smooths out the edges, keeping the spicy DNA but adding freshness to make it more versatile.
It’s still masculine, bold, and Middle Eastern-inspired, but also easier to wear as a signature scent. Purely as a clone, it’s a 9/10, but many prefer its balance over the Dior original.
Armaf Club De Nuit Iconic – Bleu de Chanel Clone
Original Inspiration: Bleu de Chanel
Performance: About 6 hours
Iconic aims to replicate Bleu de Chanel, but the opening is rough and unrefined. After 10 minutes, it smooths out to about 90% similarity, but still lacks the polished feel of Bleu.
With weaker performance (around 6 hours compared to 8 for Bleu), it feels like a missed opportunity. At best, a 7/10 clone.
Al Haramain Detour Noir – Parfums de Marly Layton Clone
Original Inspiration: PDM Layton
Performance: Very strong
Detour Noir is one of the better clones in this list. The opening is a little harsh, but once it settles, it’s 95% similar to Layton, with sweet-spicy apple, vanilla, and cardamom richness.
While Layton smells more textured and expensive, Detour Noir still feels luxurious for its price. At a fraction of the cost, it’s a 10/10 clone.

Afnan 9 PM – JPG Ultra Male Clone
Original Inspiration: Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male
Performance: 8 hours
Ultra Male is known for its sweet, bubblegum-pear scent, but can feel cloying. Afnan 9 PM improves on the formula — fresher, less headache-inducing, and easier to wear as a signature scent.
At only about $20 for 100ml, this is a bargain clone that performs well and feels more versatile than the original. A surprising 10/10.
Afnan Supremacy Not Only Intense – Hacivat/Aventus Style
Original Inspiration: Nishane Hacivat (with Aventus influences)
Performance: 6–8 hours
Supremacy Not Only Intense blends oakmoss, fruits, and smokiness, leaning closer to Hacivat than Aventus. It’s fresh, fruity, and smoky, but can turn synthetic in the final hours.
Some people love it, rating it highly, but for me it’s more of a 7.5/10. Still, for those wanting a Hacivat-style clone, it’s worth exploring.
Key Lessons from Clone Hunting
-
Accuracy Matters – The closer the scent is to the original in blending and balance, the higher the clone scores.
-
Performance Is Key – Longevity and projection can make or break a clone. Some even outperform the originals (like Armaf Sillage).
-
Value Proposition – The best clones offer 80–95% of the experience for a fraction of the price.
-
Not Always Cheaper – Clones like Sospiro Vibrato prove that being “better” doesn’t always mean cheaper.
-
Personal Preference Wins – Some clones smooth out rough edges, making them easier to wear — and sometimes preferable.
Final Thoughts
The world of clone fragrances is vast, and not every dupe is created equal. Some miss the mark, smelling synthetic or lacking in performance. But others — like Amber Oud Tobacco Edition, Detour Noir, 9 PM, and Sospiro Vibrato — deliver such accuracy and quality that they rival or even surpass their inspirations.
Ultimately, whether you chase clones for value, performance, or curiosity, the real win is discovering fragrances that suit your personality and lifestyle. The perfect 10/10 clone doesn’t just copy — it brings luxury DNA into reach without compromise.
